Ajo Blanco - A spread with garlic, almonds, olive oil, and vinegar.

Salmorejo - The cousin of gazpacho, rich, thick tomato-based cold soup but smoother (and way better!!). It is made with tomatoes, bread, olive oil, and garlic, typically sprinkled with boiled egg and serrano ham.

Chérigan - This tapa is simplicity at its finest! Picture a crispy slice of toasted bread slathered with creamy aioli or tomato, and topped with a mix-and-match medley of deliciousness: salty Serrano ham, savory cooked ham, tender tuna, melty cheese, fluffy omelette, rich mackerel, or even a pop of quail egg. It’s a choose-your-own-adventure snack!

Patatas a lo Pobre - One of our favorite dishes! Broiled potatoes cooked with olive oil, bell peppers, and onions. Usually served with a fried egg on top. What you do here is break the egg and mix the runny yolk with everything.

Calamaritos/Puntillítas Fritos - Think of this as the typical fried calamari, but the squid are smaller and more tender. These are lightly battered and fried. A favorite among locals!

Boquerones Fritos - (One of Ashley's favorites, when served with migas) This is lightly battered and fried anchovies. 100000% recommended.

La Alcazaba - A stunning Moorish fortress offering panoramic views of Almería, known for its impressive architecture and beautiful gardens.

El Americano - A refreshing cocktail crafted with Licor de kola nut, lemon peel, cinnamon, and milk, El Americano is a must-try in Almería’s vibrant bar scene. For an authentic experience, we recommend visiting Kiosko Amalia, perfectly situated in the heart of Almería near Puerta Purchena.

Zapillo Beach - is a golden-sand getaway just steps from the city center. With calm Mediterranean waters, a lively promenade lined with cafes, and plenty of amenities like showers and lifeguards, it’s perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. This local favorite blends relaxation and fun, offering an authentic coastal vibe right at your doorstep.

La Rambla - A bustling promenade in the heart of Almería, lined with shops, cafes, and cultural sites, ideal for a leisurely stroll.

Playa de los Muertos - A picturesque, secluded beach with crystal-clear waters and stunning natural surroundings, perfect for a peaceful day by the sea.
