Once upon a time, Carlos and I met, and what started as an instant connection quickly turned into something much more—proof that sometimes, love really does strike when you least expect it!

From there, our story blossomed with early morning adventures, like this gem of us at the farmers market. Fun fact: Carlos waking up at 6 am is as rare as spotting a unicorn, but his dedication to fresh veggies and a café con leche at the plaza in Alemany was truly award-worthy.

We’re always up for some fun, like dancing in the moonlight. What’s not pictured here is the freezing cold dip in the Pacific we took that same day because we thought we’d see fish. Spoiler: no fish, just frostbite.

One thing that has always bonded us is our love of food. Whether it’s cooking, exploring new restaurants, or debating which tapas reign supreme, food has been the heart of so many of our favorite memories.

When life throws curveballs, we turn them into sitcom episodes. Like that time a winter storm knocked out power. With our dogs, Lua and Vader, as our furry co-stars, we bundled up and perfected the art of layering sleeping next to the fireplace. Who needs electricity when you have questionable survival skills and an unshakable sense of humor?

Carlos proposed in the most magical way at the Met in New York. In the castle exhibit originally from his hometown. A place where it felt like fate had brought our worlds together. Standing in a place that symbolized our shared history and dreams, he asked me to be his forever, and in that moment, my heart said yes to a lifetime of love and adventure.

Family has played a big role in our story—our parents met for the first time down the shore in New Jersey, and they hit it off right away. Meanwhile, there’s a fake shark behind us in this photo, clearly scheming to crash the family bonding. Luckily, our parents were too busy sharing stories to notice, or we might’ve had to fend off a very plastic predator!

We later celebrated our love with an intimate civil wedding in San Francisco, surrounded by our closest family.
